At Garden Care Sale, we want you to be as happy with your plants as hummingbirds are with our pollinator-friendly selection. While we carefully nurture every milkweed, lavender, and drought-resistant perennial before shipping, we understand that sometimes returns or exchanges are necessary. Our policy is designed with the same care we put into selecting our native Texas plants and desert landscaping varieties.

Our Return Policy

You may return most items within 15 days of delivery for a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return:

  • Plants must arrive damaged or significantly different from what was ordered
  • Items must be in their original condition (when possible)
  • You must provide proof of purchase

Non-Returnable Items

Like some of our hardy cacti and succulents, certain items simply can’t be returned:

  • Flower bulbs (once shipped, we cannot guarantee their viability if returned)
  • Grass plugs & lawn seed (due to their perishable nature)
  • Any plant that has been planted or significantly altered

How to Initiate a Return or Exchange

Follow these simple steps, as straightforward as planting one of our deer-resistant groundcovers:

  1. Contact us within 15 days of delivery at [email protected] with “Return Request” in the subject line
  2. Provide details about your order and reason for return (photos of damaged plants are helpful)
  3. Wait for approval – our plant specialists will respond within 2 business days
  4. Ship items back (if required) using the method we specify

Refund Process

Once your return is received and inspected (usually within 5 business days), we’ll notify you of the approval status. Refunds will be processed to your original payment method within:

  • Credit cards: 3-5 business days
  • PayPal: 1-3 business days

Shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error.

Exchanges

Want to exchange your full sun plants for some shade-loving alternatives? We’re happy to help! The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the original item (following the process above), then place a new order for the desired hummingbird plants or ornamental grasses.

Damaged or Incorrect Items

If your salvia arrives damaged or you received milkweed instead of lavender, contact us immediately at [email protected]. We’ll arrange for replacement plants to be shipped at no additional cost to you (subject to availability).

Shipping Back Returns

For returns that require shipping back:

  • We’ll provide a prepaid shipping label for our errors
  • For other returns, you’ll be responsible for return shipping costs
  • We recommend using a trackable shipping service
